Ingredients
Chicken Marinade
2- boneless, skinless diced chicken breasts
1- tsp paprika
1-tsp sesame oil
2- tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
2- tbsp cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 -tablespoons vegetable oil
Sauce
2- tbsp dark soy sauce
2- tbsp chili paste Gochujang (Korean chili paste)
1- tbsp honey
1-large onion sliced
4 -cloves of garlic, minced
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro ( option)
Instructions
Chicken
Add the chicken, red pepper flakes, paprika, black pepper, salt, sesame oil, and cornstarch in a large bowl.
Mix well to combine.
In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
Add the chicken breasts to the hot skillet. Sear for about 6-8 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and has a golden brown crust.
Remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside on a plate, covering it with aluminum foil to keep warm.
Make the garlic sauce:
In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and saute for 3-4 minutes.
Add minced garlic to the onions and sauté for about a minute, until fragrant.
Mix well with chili paste, dark soy sauce, and honey with onion and garlic.
Add the chicken breasts back into the skillet with the sauce and cook for 2-3 minutes, allowing the chicken to heat through.
Garnish and serve
Serve the spicy garlic chicken breasts hot over rice or noodles.
Garnish with chopped cilantro over the chicken.
