Ingredients
1package quick-rise yeast
2tbspsugar
1tspsalt
3cupsall-purpose flour
1cupwarm water
3tbspsoftened, margarine
2eggs
1tspoil
pieces of string
12 / ½inchcinnamon stick
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine yeast, sugar, flour, salt, 1 egg, and softened, margarine.
With spatula, gradually stir warm water into flour mixture to make soft dough.
Turn dough onto lightly floured surface, knead until smooth, about 5 minutes.
Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl and cover with a damp towel or plastic wrap.
Let it rise in a warm place for 45 minutes to 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal portions. Roll each portion into a smooth ball.
Wrap each ball of dough with a piece of string 4 times, into 8 fairly equal sections, tie a knot in the string and cut the extra strings off, place the dough balls back into cookie sheet, cover and let it rise in warm place, about 30 minutes, until dough is gently pushing out between the strings.
Meanwhile, preheat oven to 350°F.
In a small cup bowl beat one egg and 1 teaspoon of water, brush top and sides of each dough balls.
