Ingredients
1cupsbutter, softened
½cupbrown sugar
1egg
1cupmolasses
2tsp baking soda
1cuphot water
3cups flour
1tbspground ginger
½tsp ground cinnamon
¼tspground cloves
¼tspsalt
Maple Vanilla Glaze
1cupicing sugar
2tsp maple s syrup
2-3tspwater
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350F.
Grease a 9x5 inches loaf pan
In a large bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar.
Beat egg until light and fluffy stir in molasses.
Dissolve baking soda in hot water, and set aside.
Sift together flour, cinnamon, ginger, clove , and salt.
Add flour mixture alternately with dissolved baking soda into creamed mixture, stirring until blended.
Pour mixture into cake pan.
Bake for 50-60 minutes or until inserted tester into the center comes out clean.
Let cool in the pan for 15 minutes.
Maple Vanilla Glaze
Mix icing sugar, water, and maple syrup, until smooth.
