Instructions
Prepare the dates:
Rinse the dates under water and gently pat them dry with a clean towel.
Slice each date lengthwise and remove the pit, creating a small pocket. ( You can purchase pre-sliced dates with the pits removed.)
Cook the apple filling:
Melt the butter in a small pan over medium heat. Add the diced apple, cinnamon, and lemon juice.
Cook for 3-5 minutes until the apples are soft and caramelized.
Stir in chopped nuts (if using).
Stuff the dates:
