Gingerbread Loaf

Gingerbread Loaf

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cups butter, softened
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 tbsp ground ginger
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground cloves
  • ¼ tsp salt

Maple Vanilla Glaze

  • 1 cup icing sugar
  • 2 tsp maple s syrup
  • 2-3 tsp water

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350F.
  • Grease a 9x5 inches loaf pan
  • In a large bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar.
  • Beat egg until light and fluffy stir in molasses.
  • Dissolve baking soda in hot water, and set aside.
  • Sift together flour, cinnamon, ginger, clove , and salt.
  • Add flour mixture alternately with dissolved baking soda into creamed mixture, stirring until blended.
  • Pour mixture into cake pan.
  • Bake for 50-60 minutes or until inserted tester into the center comes out clean.
  • Let cool in the pan for 15 minutes.

Maple Vanilla Glaze

  • Mix icing sugar, water, and maple syrup, until smooth.
  • Drizzle over the cake.
