Ingredients
- 1 can chickpea, drained and rinse ( 796ml )
- 1 medium tomato, diced
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 4-5 curry leaves
- 3 cloves garlic, chopped
- ½- inch ginger
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- ½ tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp curry powder
- ½ tsp turmeric
- ¼ tsp cumin seeds
- ¼ black mustard seeds
- ¼ cup water
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Heat the oil in a skillet over medium-low heat.
- Add cumin and mustard seeds with chopped onions and cook until brown and caramelized.
- Add chopped garlic, ginger, and curry leaves and cook for 20-30 seconds.
- Add curry powder with chili, turmeric, and salt.
- Cook for another 30 seconds before adding chickpeas and diced tomatoes.
- Add water, bring to a boil, reduce the heat to low, and cook for 10 minutes.
- Taste and adjust the salt.
