Ingredients
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 clove garlic, finely chopped
- ½ -inch ginger, finely chopped
- 5-6 curry leaves, fresh or dried
- ½ -inch cinnamon stick
- 3-4 cardamom pods
- ½ cup peas
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro
- 2½ cup cooked rice
- 2 tsp cumin seeds
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
- ½ tbsp lemon juice
- salt to taste
Instructions
- In a 10-inch skillet, melt the butter over medium heat, add curry leaves with cinnamon stick, cardamom pods, and chopped onions and cook until it's tender, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in garlic, ginger, and cumin seeds with turmeric powder, cook, stirring until fragrant for few minutes.
- Add pea and lemon juice, cook, stirring for 1 minutes.
- Add rice, and salt mix well, taste and adjust the salt
- Remove from the heat, garnish with cilantro.
